I leave my computer on 24/7, is this a problem with SSD's? I remote into my machine when I am gone so that is why I leave it on 24/7. I just built a new machine and am almost done with it and this question struck me.

Was wondering if this is a problem with SSD's, and if it will pose issues.

I have never personally had an issue with it. The only problems you "MIGHT" see would relate to the power saving/sleep/hibernate settings which may require a little bit of tweaking on your part.

Thanks guys,
I was thinking it might cause problems since the machine will be reading/writing the entire time, and aren't SSD's limited on their writing or something like that?

Sure, but they're also designed to last for years under various workloads. The firmware has a number of features in it like write leveling, spare cells, TRIM, etc to keep the MTBF up high enough for consumer usage. My home machine has been on practically 24x7 (minus 1 power outage, I think) and according to the SMART data currently has 2298 power on hours.

I'm hoping your PC isn't writing the entire time it's on, that's not really normal wear even for an excessively write-happy OS like Windows.

I researched this and built a HTPC with a SSD for a boot drive, run's 24/7 and have no problems and no concerns, so enjoy it made to last years as others have said.
