Ok so here's the deal, i have roughly 100GB of music on my PC and decided to throw in my older 120GB IDE drive in my computer thats dedicated to just storing my itunes music and use my other 250GB sata as primary, and 500GB as storage for videos and pictures. I hooked everything up, set the jumper on the IDE drive as slave. It detects in the bios just fine, shows up in device manager, and even shows up in the western digital diagnostics screen. Than WHY for the love of all that is holy does it not show up as a mass storage device when I click my computer? I can't seem to make it so I can write or read data from it in windows xp.
Everything is up to date and running fine I just can't get this IDE drive to recognize. Any suggestions? Is it possible to do this without running some weird RAID setup?
