Running a window air conditioner with no window?

This is just a lan party idea to prevent hot rooms. Is it possible to get a window air conditioner and have it cool a room just by the refridgerant? Most of the lan partys I go to with my friends all end up in one of ours' basements with no available/close by window.

The exhausted air that is heated will go right back into the room. You'll just waste power. In a window AC, it takes room air, removes the heat, expels the hot air outside and the cold air back in.

no because you will be sucking the hot air into the room as well

AC units work by sucking out hot air and replacing it, if its not in a window it?ll defeat the purpose

I've made this work before.

Plastic wrapping from kitchen is needed

Remove door. Put ac on floor. Seal top of door fram with plastic wrap and tape. Turn on ac. enjoy.

I think you all need an A/C lesson.

They don't suck out hot air and replace it, they pull the air through the cold side of the A/C.. which looks exactly like the hot side, except.. it's, well, cold. The hot air you feel comming out of the back is from the fan cooling the condensor.

Yep, that works. Although, you'd have to be stupid to use Saran Wrap to seal a door. :Q Just go buy a drop cloth(plastic) for 2.50.
