Haven't run into this one before.....

I just got my son a Tonka game from the most recent Best Buy sale. it came today and I see its for Win95/98/ME. of course, all of my systems are WinXP. Not really wanting to open the package if its not going to work.

Any chance it will work? Or is there any "emulator" or whatever i can easily install to run the older game?

Thanks!
Aaron

If it doesn't work try adjusting the settings by using Compatibilty Mode. Just right click on the icon and then go to properties. Click on Compatibilty and play with the settings there.

If compatibility mode doesn't work and it's not 3D accelerated, it will almost certainly run in Virtual PC.

Of course, if you haven't actually tried it yet, chances are that it will work fine as it is in XP, with no special measures needed.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay....

I didn't even know about Compatability mode in Winxp. Pretty neat.

As as was deciding whether to try and make it work or not, my son opened the package, so it wasn't returnable, so I tried to install. Tried my wife's toshiba laptop, in compatability mode and just running setup.exe and was having major problems. Was bummed that this wasn't going to work. Then I decided to try my work laptop, which did work. So yeah, its a pretty neat little game. His life is all about trucks and construction equipment, so this will be great. Part of the buy 1, get 2 free $9.99 games offer at best buy last week.

Thanks!
