Running a Quake server

I left my box up as a Quake CTF server for 2 hours, had lotsa people playing and when they all finally left, I killed the server (clicked Quit on console). I turned ZoneAlarm back on and I have gotten about 700 alerts in the last 40 minutes. They all say "...blocked access to your computer (UDP Port 27960)", which is the port Quake uses. How long does it take for the master server to realize I terminated my server? ZoneAlarm is generating a massive log of blocked IPs and they are all different...

The trouble with temporary servers is that people will add you to their 'Unbound' list, meaning some will continue pinging you long after you're off the master server list.

As for how long it takes for the master server to drop you, I'm not sure. You stopped sending the heartbeat, so it shouldn't take long at all.
