I am trying to run a DOS based program in windows XP. It is called traverse PC. I had it up and working last night but now it just brings up a blank black Command prompt screen. I have tried everything I can think of. I have tired changing the compatability modes and just about ever possible properties combination. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

Anyone? As I said, I am very confused because it was working fine for about an hour. I exited the program and reentered it a few times the first night and it worked fine. When I tried to open it the next day it wouldn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

have you tried running it in compatability mode?
right click on .exe select properties and try it in win 98 or win95 I would also try using dosbox while in compatability mode what ya got to loose can't hurt to try?

someone mentioned aVDMsound to me once too sounded like a similar app to dosbox although i never tried it.

already tried Dos Box in compatability mode. It worked for a while as I said so there must be something that changed either in the memory or the .exe file itself would be my guess. I just don't know where to start.

If that's true, maybe reinstall it, and then set the executable as read-only, and see if that helps?
