Specifically looking at GIGABYTE GV-N750OC-1GI

It has 2 DVI + 2 HDMI

Want to run 3 1920x1080 + 1 1680x1050 monitor off this card. As far as I can tell, there shouldn't be any issue with this, but just want to confirm.

no gaming, pure desktop work

also will be 'upgrading' from dual Radeon HD 6670 cards, any driver issues I need to be aware of?

(the reason for the switch is that the computer tends to crash when moving windows between monitors, esp to/from the small one, so seems like an issue with the video card)

I don't have them in front of me, but I think it was an i5-3570 with 32gb ram

I can probably look up the motherboard if you think it's important

yes, that's the spec, but there are often limitations (such as requiring monitors to be same resolution or it can only drive 4 if at least one of them is running off display port or other such stuff)

I believe those limitations are only true when running in surround mode. Not when you're simply driving the desktop.

Yes. That is true in surround setups. If you're not gaming and doing just desktop work, then you will be fine with multi size/type/res monitors.

Agreed. That was why I asked about the rest of the system. If it was an older system I was going to suggest saving the $$ from a GPU and buy a new processor/MB. Sounds like he is good to go.

You may want to check on your specific card just to be sure. I've run into situations before where certain versions are artificially limited in the number of monitors they can drive.
