Running 2x512MB from different companies in Dual Channel Mode

I have one stick of 512MB PC3200 RAM and I was wondering if I got another 512mb module from a different company whether they could run in dual channel mode. Is there any disadvantage to using two modules from two different manufacturers?

Yes, this can work, but not likely. I would try and find the same brand of memory if you can to gaurantee that it will work for you in dual channel.
