CAN YOU RUN AN AGP VIDEO CARD WITH A PCI OR MUST YOU RUN 2 PCI TO GET DUAL VIDEO CARDS.
Can anyone help me. Ihave a KT7 motherboard with a Duron 700Mhz running at 700Mhz (WinME). I am running a geforce 2 GTS AGP video card and want to add an additional video card. Ibought a Voodoo2 2000 PCI card and when I installed it the machine started up and the monitor on the AGP card came up with a message about Display properties and the "Settings tab". When i selected the settings tav - blue screen. Try again abd both monitor are there but when i select monitor 2 message "Your primary display card must support 256 colour or more" followed by "Run DLL" error. Reinstall windows, format hard disk, drop down to Win98 - Similar problems.
HAS ANYONE MANAGED TO ACHIEVE THIS. PLEASE HELP. :confused:Text

Did you install the drivers for the Voodoo 3? Try installing the Voodoo 3 drivers before going to the 'settings' tab.

I have dual monitors with a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP and a 2000 PCI btw, so the AGP/PCI thing is definitely possible.

Snow patrol,

My machine selects the PCI display as the primary card. Does your?
Do you know how to change which card is picked up as the primary as I would like my AGP to be the primary.

Cheers

Have a look in the BIOS. It should be there somewhere - to force AGP as primary.

Good luck :)

you can run 1 agp and 1 pci, thats what i'm doing, make sure you have your agp as primary, and install the drivers. Also some cards dont like being run in dual but those two i think should be ok. I am running a v4 4500 and a 2mb matrox in win2k.
