It was 8 years ago the last time I ran (high school).

400 meter best official time 50.1 sec. In a 400 meter relay I've been clocked at 48.something seconds. The coaches wouldn't let me run the individual 400 meter my Junor or Senior year (they wanted relay medals instead and my asthma wouldn't allow me to run more than 3 races in a day) so I bet I could have gotten a 48 sec official time.

800 meter best time is 1:50.something. (Also measured in a relay so it isn't official).

3.2 mile (cross country) best time was 14:47. That was a nearly flat course. Add some hills and I could never beat 15:30.

I only ran a 5 mile race once (did it in practice but that was slower). By time was 32 minutes and I forget how many seconds.

Not much of a runner.

Last years local 5k(3.4 mile course) - 29:11, I had just started running again. I have been running pretty consistently since then and am now going 4.5+ miles in 30 min. Will be interesting to see what my time is in this years 5k.

dullard, who did you run for in high school? when did you graduate? that 800 time is insane for high school. rarely do you get kids under 1:50 in HS.

My times:

400 - 50.5
800 - 1:58
1600 - 4:45

I don't want to mislead anyone, as that was an unofficial time. Honestly I don't know if that 1:50.something is accurate or maybe I got 1:51.something since it was unofficial. I ran in Columbus high in Nebraska. I couldn't get any air for about 2 hours after a run (often after I ran the ambulance would rush over to me and give me oxygen), so I was always placed in relays (4x400 and 4x800 which are at opposite ends of the day). We had a really good relay team - got several state medals and set many local records.

I gave up running when I went to college.

i only run miles 🙂 but the way i see, i have been shaving hours of my time for the last 2 years, so by the time in 25, ill be runnin a under an hour easy 😛

Wow nick, those are some awesome times. There are a lot of really nice times in here...!

In track, I can run a 1600 in 5:07, 3200 in 11:18, 800 in 2:30 (never liked it; my 800 split in the mile is always faster than my standalone 800 times), and 60 in the 400. I dislike sprinting; it messes up my shoulder (which I dislocated a while back), and my legs are far too long to sprint quickly.

In XC, I ran an 18:02 in the 5K, and a 32:17 in 8K.

I'm not a great runner, but I enjoy it and my goal for this year in track is to run a 4:45 1500. I definitely enjoy the 1500/1600 most of all my races.

I've never seen anyone above 6 feet do what people around 5'6" to 5"8 can do stamina wise unless their olympic sprinters. There must be some short people in this thread.

Actually, BD231, I know a kid who went to my school who was probably around 6'4" or so, and he was the fastest runner I have ever seen. Ever. He ran for the United States in some International distance running competition held in France. He could run a 4:00 mile, and a 5K in under 15 minutes. I don't know his times exactly, since he graduated 3 or 4 years ahead of me, but his legend has lived on. Matt Spring is his name; I wouldn't be surprised if he went Olympic or something.

When i was in highschool, i was in the basketball team. But sometimes me and few of my teammate would get call for Track & Field.

My best time.

400M - 0:54
800M - 1:54

SWScorch- Was this guy ripped or lanky? That's amazing for someone so tall, once you start getting past 6 feet it usually take quite alot of lower body bulk or a very thin frame to do something like that.

He was extraordinarily lanky, even more so than I am, I think. (I'm 5'10" and 130 pounds or so; he was probably half a foot taller than me and couldn't have weighed much more.)
