run rc5 hidden

How can i my the rc5 client run hidden on boot.

Put a shortcut for it in your startup folder.

Then open the ini file and add this line:

[display]
detached=yes

The file is DNETC.ini It will appear as "configuration settings" under file type. That should do it.

You can also install the client as a service, and along with the changes to the .INI file mentioned above, will keep the client hidden, even during startup. Also, if you are on a network, the client will run even without logging on to the network.

To install the client as a service, go to the DOS prompt, change to the distributed.net folder, and type:

DNETC.EXE -INSTALL

Then

DNETC.EXE -SVCSTART

The first command will install the client as a service, the second will start the client.
