Run IE9 as different domain account? Not as simple as it might seem.

I'm ashamed to even ask a question that feels like the answer should be so simple, but hear me out.

I know how to set launch parameters and how to hold shift, right click on a app, run as a different user and then auth using the desired user account against the desired domain, however, it just doesn't retain that for the usage of IE.

I'm a member of a domain that's for the system engineers/admins in my org but everyone else is a member of our corp domain. As a result all internal sites require me to auth to the corp domain with my account from there and it's really annoying to have to do that constantly.

If I shift, right click, run as a different user, I can then put in the corp domain and my account and password and sure enough it launches IE.

But when I then hit any internal website that's in that same corp domain, it prompts again to auth and shows my current domain as my sys admin domain and not the corp domain I just launched IE with.

Is there any trick to forcing IE to run under a different domain and account when your workstation is otherwise authenticated in a different domain?

Windows 7 Pro x64 is what I'm using for my OS.

I don't know about specifically running IE under a different domain account but I think you should be able to do the following to get this to work without you requiring to log on every time:

1 - Open IE
2 - Goto Settings > Internet Options > Security
3 - Select Local Intranet
4 - Goto Sites > Advanced
5 - Enter each internal website URL, clicking Add for each one so they populate the box below
6 - Click Close > OK
7 - Ensure Local Intranet is still selected
8 - Goto Custom Level
9 - Scroll down to User Authentication, Logon
10 - Select Automatic Logon with Current Username and Password
11 - Click OK > OK

I think this should allow you to save the account info you use to logon to the other domain sites and not have to enter it every time. Worth a shot.
