"Run" command dissappeared on Win XP start menu!!

Hi folks!

i was using TweakXP to tweak (sic) Win XP and I chose to hide some things from the START menu, like My favorites, My documents, etc.

when i applied the changes, I noted that the "Run" command dissappeared from the start menu. i tried to put it back using TweakXP but it just won't appear again.

anyone knows how to fix this?? Maybe using RegEdit??

Thanks!

you could use a prog called InCtrl which records changes made to your system. so start up inctrl, make one of the changes (like hide the favorites), then use inctrl to see what it did to the registry to do that, and i'm sure nearby there will be something for the run item too.

well at least maybe 🙂

oh and winkey + R works like a charm too

OK, thanks for the winkey+R thing, that works like a charm for sure.

however, I already have made the changes and don't have InCtrl installed, so there's no way for such a program to monitor something that's already done....

Any other way to get back the "RUN" command on my start menu?

Hi,

I'm wondering if just doing this the regular way would work? Right-click on the Start button, choose Properties, choose the Start Menu tab on the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog. Click on the Start Menu Customize button. Choose the Advanced tab on the Customize Start Menu dialog. Scroll down in the Start Menu Items window until you see the "Run command" item. Is there a checkmark next to it?
