Run an IIS webserver but also share files locally...

I messed with this a while ago and I remember it messed up my file sharing from my PC to Xbox, but hopefully the smart guys here can help me out.

I want to run a webserver on my XPPro machine and run IIS which I believe you have to disable Simple File Sharing. When I did that last time, I could not access files on my PC from my other computer and Xbox.

Is there a way to use IIS and SFS or something similar to SFS that I could use?

Thanks!

are you asking about the 360, or just an original xbox?

doesn't the 360 use "windows media connect"? i'm not sure if that's a flavor of SFS, or if it runs separate from that...

you could always run an FTP server on the webserver also, but FTPing in to grab an MP3 or something gets to be a hassle...

With XP Professional, you can definitely run IIS, turn off Simple File Sharing, and still access shared folders and files from other computers on your network. I have NO idea how XBoxes work, but Win98, 2000, and XP will be able to see your shared folders just fine....If you set up sharing properly.

Sync passwords from all devices, (i.e. User1 on all machines, with same password, User2 on all machines, same password) and set NTFS security permissions correctly.
