Run 7.1 192khz over hdmi to Vsx-522-k

Hi, I bought a Pioneer receiver [Vsx-522-k] Evidently from below Pioneer doesn't have competent support staff "Is a windows 10 computer with a nvidia graphics card a bluray player or dvd player?" Anyways, I'm looking for any suggested settings to send 5.1/7.1 @ 24bit 192khz to the receiver? The DAC is 192khz 24bit, and windows audio management /nvidia hd audio driver support 24/192. However I can only send 24/96 5.1 or 24/192 2.0. [For the receiver to playback]. However the Pioneer support does point towards the receiver accepting 24/192/7.1.

As I said, my GTX 970 running Windows 10. The audio playing to the device would be windows audio test, from the windows audio management. If set to 2 channel[stereo[ it will playback 192khz24bit if set to 5.1 192khz there's no playback, if you run 5.1 96khz24bit it also plays back.

I just tried 2 channel 24bit/192khz and it works, however with 5.1 it still doesn't work, is it a limitation of the stereo?

I don't think there is a 'suggested settings.' This is starting to sound like a driver 7.1 192/24bit support issue. I would start by 1st ensuring that 7.1 PCM works at all. You can do this with your BluRay player or PS3/PS4 or any other HT device that supports it. Once you confirm that it works, unplug from your HT device then plug into your computer.

In Windows Sound control panel right click the HDMI device and dig through those settings. It should also show what the receiver supports, then configure accordingly. Yes, there is a Windows control panel settings then what Nvidia has in theirs. Most of the time they switch the same settings.

And there's nothing special about 7.1 192/24bit. It's been supported for at least 10 years, even in my previous receiver. I had no issues supporting it with HT devices with even DVD players from 2004. It's always been computers... or actually drivers where support differs. Win Vista+ made everything easier with it's centralized, surround sound friendly Control Panel.

Best of luck.

7.1/5.1 works @ 24/96 [If no rear surround, it uses a reverb to play 7.1 to 5.1]
24/192khz works @ 2 channels
