Gates is NOT a Neo-Con. His views on Iraq and Iran are totally different from the current administration.

Agree. He's from the 41 admin. Which by default is a great improvement over 43. If only Jr. had listened to daddy and Scowcroft.

Don't forget, Gates has to be confirmed by the brand-spanking new Democratic Congress...so I wouldn't get too excited about him just yet.

Not if they do it before the new Senate comes in.

If the Dems see something they don't like it would be childs play to stave off a vote until January.

They will grill Gates, but they will confirm him.

Rumsfeld stepping down is good, but I don't know if this chap Gates is any improvement.

He seems like another Texas crony, Bush family friend, and worthless career bureacrat. I'm not sure if he's well equipped to lead the army.

What Bush favors is not skill or competence, but loyalty. He's packed most of the high government positions with stooges and hanger-ons from Texas that his family has known for decades.

I think Gates is geniune, and not a bad choice. His views on the middle east are opposite of the current administration. I dont think he would give up an EXTREMELY CUSH job to be a yes man.

The president doesn't have constitutional authority to fire the vice president.
I know. That's the reason we have impeachment for both of them. 😎

My gosh! We made yet get our first Woman President - and then Hannity's head splodes!🙂

Boy when the heat of Iraq started and all these so called unpatriotic Americans where getting hauled away, I'm sure CBS would of taken a lashing for this, even some necks might of swung from a rope, funny how that tide has turned now.

Even now when a BIG News syndicate lets something like this get put on their website, all I can say is WOW.
