WASHINGTON - In a new effort to promote the Iraq War, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld used World of Warcraft as a metaphor to boost morale on Meet the Press last Sunday. When prodded about the current state of the war by host Tim Russert, Secretary Rumsfeld elaborated.

?It might make things clearer if we look at the situation like big a MMORPG. Take World of Warcraft, for instance. The US and the new Iraqi government, and their allies on the ground like Moldova, Albania and Mongolia, are the Alliance. Terrorist groups and subversives like Al Qaeda are Horde, plain and simple.?

When asked why Rumsfeld is using MMO terminology to describe the war, the Secretary responded, ?You got to use the right lingo to get the ear of the kids.?

?Tim, we?re not dealing with AI here. These aren?t your run-of-the-mill NPC?s. These are trained killers who will stop at nothing to inflict damage to a large AOE, area of affect.?

Iraq is a World of Warcraft

Host Russert pressed the Secretary further. ?How long do we plan to keep grinding in Iraq, Mr. Secretary??

?Until the job is done. We?re not going to cut-and-run. You have to look at the Fertile Crescent right now like it's one giant, overloaded PvP server.?

?Mr. Secretary, why has leveling been such a challenge for the US in Iraq??

?We need to show the terrorists we are not the gimps they think we are.? In regards to allegations that US soldiers in Iraq are having to craft their own bulletproof armor for their humvees, Rumsfeld said the Pentagon is doing all it can to provide servicemen with any and all necessary equipment. ?Unfortunately, we cannot rollback the war and do things differently. But, as they say, hindsight is twenty-twenty.?

Bush, clearly. I mean, I'm sure they were all in the war room, and Powell was like, "All right Cheney, these are tough guys, so what do you think would be a good strategy?"
"hmmm, if we send the Air Force in first to soften them up, then invade with the marines...while continuing to bombard their rear guard with airstrikes...I calculate we'll have a 96% chance of winning...yes, 96.3%, if we time it perfectly."

Then Bush would be "All right guys, LET'S GO!! GEEEEOOORRGGGEEE....DUBBBYYYAAAA!!!!"

O RLY?

WoW reaches 6.6 billion subcribers!!!!

IRVINE, Calif. - World of Warcraft astounded all expectations yet again when it was revealed their subscriber base has increased exponentially, unbelievably hitting the 6.6 billion mark. If these statistics are correct, it would mean every man, woman, and child on earth has been swept up in the World of Warcraft frenzy. In fact, estimates show that there is a new World of Warcraft subscriber every 2.1 seconds. Curiously, this outpaces the world birth rate which is one every 4.1 seconds according to the US Census Bureau. At this rate, it is estimated that the developers of World of Warcraft are making hundreds of trillions of dollars per month on subscription fees alone. Recently an executive at the company was crushed to death when an avalanche of dollar bills heaped in piles at the WoW headquarters lost stability. Asked what they plan to do with all the money, a spokesperson for Blizzard plans to collaborate with NASA on extraterrestrial research. The spokesperson elaborated, "Imagine how much higher we can boost our numbers if there was a whole new demographic of aliens to market World of Warcraft to."

Now thats WoW addiction!!!
