Just got of the phone from my supplier and i was told that the
new AMD Sapphire 7970 6gb Toxic will be out in a few days
and it has been rebuilt as far as how many connections are on it ?
And he mentioned about clock speed being raised, so time will tell.

You let him off the hook too easy. 😡

We want to know when... exactly! We want to know what bloody connectivity... exactly! We want to know clocks... exactly! Now, get back on the phone and report back here! /sarc

How much ram do you need for triple 2560x1440 and some multisampling? Is this only going to be useful for compute?

It's called "Eyefinity 6" for a reason. 😉

I'm pretty certain you'll need more than one though to have the GPU horsepower to use all that VRAM.

Before you get to the point where 3GB is not enough, your GPUs are completely maxed out. 2-3GB I get, 4GB as well. But 6GB is just senseless overkill that adds to power consumption and cost without any benefit.

I just hope that if and when it is released, they send it to a reviewer who has at least a 3 monitor setup. Nothing more frustrating than seeing these high Vram cards tested on a single 1920 x 1080 monitor. This card should be for a very select niche group running at least 5760 x 1080 resolution.

Jesus really? The card is for EYEFINITY 6.

Eyefinity 6.

So what? I highly doubt that even 4x7970 could provide playable fps in titles where much VRAM is needed. We all know that with AFR and especially CF you need more fps to get a real enjoyable experience. Take away AA to get those fps and you take away the need for 6GB as well, for instance in BF3.
