Rumour: Asus to make ATI video cards

First MSI, now possibly Asus! Makes me curious just how much Nvidia video card sales are hurting, especially for the card manufacturers. It won't be long before ATI has the largest Marketshare(safe predicition), hopefully Nvidia can get back in the game before it's too late.

OMG, if nvidia loses both msi and asus, they'll be pretty well screwed over. I know that nvidia's cards haven't been doing that well, but this is really a shock to me.

does this mean no more NFORCE bords from asus, i think that would be a injustice to their AMD market

Um, AFAIK MSI does not sell any retail or OEM ATI cards anywhere. Not only that, but MSI has personally told me they do not make ATI cards anywhere in the world. Has this changed?

Nvidia sales dont appear to be hurting that bad. They still held ~56% of the stand alone market and about 26-27% of the total market.

ATI was around ~30% of the stand alone market and ~22% of the total market. If ASUS does this it is probably because they want to expand their OEM offerings.

A quick rundown of the MSI product offerings does not show a single ATI product. If they are shipping anything it is only for OEMs and wont be something you can get off the street very easily. All I see is Nvidia card after Nvidia card on the MSI product offering.

Momentum is building on the ATI side, Nvidia has been losing momentum. How that turns out in time, is not entirely known, but ATI will continue to expand it's marketshare.
