Just the mention of xvid support throws a wrench into making this rumor very credible, but who knows, most of this stuff sounds like legit stuff.

I've bolded the rumored additions that I think are pretty noteworthy if they turn out to be true, atleast IMO. The picture-in-picture functionality mention is interesting, I wouldn't mind to know what that would entail, if true.

Discuss away guys.

Yah as Queasy mentioned in another thread, that whole Xvid support function makes me think this is definitely a bogus list.

Yeah...but it would be sooooo nice if it wasn't fake. A lot of those things listed are great like the clan settings...filtering friends via games...and especially the Xvid stuff.

I think if they added Xvid it would go a long way to weaning me off my old Xbox with Media Center - although I still use it for watching DVD isos.

They can already advertise in-game. I wonder what this "new" way to do it is

It was mentioned in passing in another thread with no link or details. Nobody posted the entire list like you did here.

Probably streaming up to date ads through Xbox Live instead of the static ads currently used in games. People could sign contracts then on how successful a game is and sign new contracts as games get more popular over time. I'm fine with in game advertising as long as it doesn't take away from the game....I'll vote with my dollars.

They already stream up to date ads in games. Check out R6:Vegas. The billboards outside, the posters on the walls all change. For example, Calypso Casino map. The billboard outside has changed many times. There are posters on the wall inside the casino that change. When 300 was being released they were 300 ads. There have been Shooter ads when that movie was released also. They pretty much change every week.

The list is almost certainly fake (XviD violates more patents than you can shake a stick at), but it sure is a nice little wish list. May as well toss MPEG-2 support on there while they're at it.

Maybe they are putting something in place for free online play w/ advertisements. That wouldn't be such a bad deal. I'd still probably pay for gold, but I have a few thrifty friends that balk at the idea of paying for XBlive

The IPTV functionality is a given as it has already been announced for the fall. Unfortunately, you can only get it if AT&T's U-Verse service is available in your area. It won't work with Verizon.

It already does support MPEG-2, at least through the media center extender....dunno about the "videos" program.
