Maybe its just me but wouldn't it be fairly hard to increase the pipelines without a core redesign?

the mystical pipelines.

anyway, they may have added some instructions at most...i doubt they did any REAL architectural enhancements outside of adding instructions to 3Dnow or added SSE2

This is probably what Tom's hardware was talking about when he said AMD had a little something up their sleve. Hopefully the T-Bred will work with KT266A motherboards and the like, I wouldn't mind having one.

Tbred definitely won't have an increased integer pipeline (from 10 to 12), that would require a complete redesign of the core AFAIK.

Added SSE2 and/or 3DNow! extentions is quite unlikely IMHO.

I very much doubt Tbred is anything but a die shrink. However, if there were some type of improvements, branch prediction or improved TLB's would be the first thing I would guess. FSB and cache will stay the same of course.

I have to admit I really don't know shyt about what the T-Bred is.. new instructions etc.. But I think it would be surprising if they have made any changes considering the problems many say they had with the 0.13 process.
But then on the other hand who knows.. Maybe the problems were due to new instructions?! We'll just have to wait and see. I will in any case get one if it turns out they overclock well. If it's possible to get them to 2 Ghz fairly easily it will outperform the NW 1.6@2133 mhz and the NW 1.8 @ 2.4 ghz as well with a good margin.
The T-bred could be a VERY solid performer.. Especially on a 166 mhz bus which some of the never kt333 boards support with the correct /5 divisor!!..(the abit at7 for instance) A 1900+ @ 2 Ghz with 166 mhz bus would rock :) And you wouldn't have to fiddle with the bridges.. just up the fsb and voila!

I hope they are as sweet as I want them 2 b :)

No one ever said AMD had problems with their .13 transition. Everyone just assumed they did. AMD never said anything about it. In fact during their conference they said they were having no problems with their .13 process.

Not only that, but AMD stated last week that they would finish the transistion to .13-micron a quarter early; Q3 instead of Q4.

A final bios? Where and it would work with my XP 1800 right?
