IMO AMD doesn't need to release a product to go after the 1080ti. They've already shown Vega running 10% faster than the 1080 with debugging level Fury drivers. The clocks were low @ 1200. They could slot this thing right below the 1080ti @ 650, with good coolers like on the Sapphire Tri-X, and I think it would sell well. There is a gap there that Nvidia hasn't filled. Depending on performance they might be able to pull off 700 with aftermarket coolers vs a 1080ti FE. It's almost like Nvidia invited AMD to have the spot.
