what could they do?

Full fledged, 512SP GF100? SI will still be smaller than GF100 and should also still be respectably faster across the board.

So that leaves a full fledged, 384SP GF104 to better compete with the more mainstream, likely performing somewhere between the Radeon 5850 and 5870. Granted I think the $200-299 range is the bread and butter amongst the general enthusiast crowd.

From a very reliable source, first SI(HD6xxx ??) products would come in November and they’re going to release the High End chips first, so I think only the High End SI will be released this year.

No die shrink = no excitement.

Maybe you're right, maybe not. AMD's current die is large but not huge, they may have some wiggle room. Depending on what they do or don't do they may not even need to really make the die much larger, they may be able to create a more efficient part. Then again maybe without the die shrink it'll be like a Northwood to Prescott type of part, not all that exciting. Rumors are all over the place, I think I've read from 10% - 50% more performance, so really it's like throwing darts and seeing where they land at this point. Hopefully we'll all know soon enough, the 58xx are coming up on very close to a year old now.
