Rules for .EU registration

More news

There will be three phases to this launch, each with different requirements. Only companies with a registered office in an EU country will be able to register .EU domains. For US companies, a registered subsidiary will be sufficient to meet the eligibility rule.

The dates are as follows:
Phase 1 Sunrise Launch ? December 7, 2005 ? February 6, 2006 -- Applications must be based upon registered national trademarks and registered community (EU) trademarks. The domain being applied for must match exactly the TM (marks of more than one word may be registered with and without hyphens).
Phase 2 Sunrise Launch ? February 7, 2006 ? April 6, 2006 ? Applications must be based upon a Company Name, a Business Identifier, or Trade names (such as, but not limited to, proof of sales volumes, copies of advertising or promotional materials, invoices on which the trade name or business identifier is mentioned etc., proving public use of the name in the relevant member state)
Phase 3 Landrush ? Starting April 7, 2006 ? For Landrush, registrations are open to all and .EU applications no longer require proof of a legal right.

As you know, EURid is running a first come first served registry, so it is essential to get your applications in first.
