This is no different than the Airborne Rangers being part of the US Army

Ah, ok. That makes sense, then. I just checked to be sure, but the RAF is its own branch (just like the USAF is). I had wondered if the RAF was part of the Army like the USAF used to be part of the US Army...but it is not.

Makes me doubt everything he has said about his military service when he does not even know that the portion he served in was part of the Army. Heck, even Navy SeaBees (Construction Battallion - who dress in camo, and act like they are in the Army) know they are in the Navy.

i have known individuals in both the US Army, US Marine Corp, and US Airforce and all have known the rank, insignias, and structure of each service.

I can still name all the Navy ranks (been out for awhile now), but I never did get the hang of the Army ranks...they use the same names of officers for different levels...and then their enlisted rank symbols are upside down.

All I remember is that if they wear something shiny on their collar and act like they are God's gift to the planet, they are acadamy grads and you have to call them sir. :)
