Ruined CD?

Is is possible to ruin an original CD from the burning process? I burned a successful copy of Red Alert 2 using Clone CD and a Plextor PX-W8432Ti IDE burner. I made an image to the hard disk then burned the image onto a blank. The burned game only plays on the Plextor.

Is it possible that this process affected the original in any way? For the record, the copy was to be used only as a backup of the original.

There should be no damage to the original at all....no effect at all.

Are you burning to CDRs or CDRWs? Some older drives don't like CDRWs....that could be the reason why it can only be read by your Plextor drive.

no...there is now ay it could ruin it. aside from being scratched by dropping it. RA2 is protected with Safedisc 2, which very few buners can copy correclty. Plextors can do it, but the copy can only be played on the burner.
