Engineer - trouble may be an overstatment, but you have the right idea

DaZ is on the right track, we have to increase the # of 'active' members
(and pray that OGR ends soon)

I wouldn't get too worried until tonights statsrun, when we can see how our buisness herds compare. As for OGR, it's only 10% done.=|

I think OGR is D.Net's new default project; e.g. it will probably go on forever. :(

I suspect most members simply download the dnet client and start it up not realising that the default is set for OGR instead of RC5.

I'm back at 700Mhz yeah! hehe
[Sep 11 13:44:54 UTC] Loaded RC5 1*2^28 packet CE3A8E74:D0000000
[Sep 11 13:44:54 UTC] Summary: 5 RC5 packets (24*2^28 keys)
0.00:42:38.53 - [2.05 Mkeys/s]
[Sep 11 13:44:54 UTC] 42 RC5 packets (261 work units) remain in buff-in.rc5
[Sep 11 13:44:54 UTC] Projected ideal time to completion: 0.08:37:39.00
[Sep 11 13:44:54 UTC] 90 RC5 packets (253 work units) are in buff-out.rc5

Horribly slow process, i'm saving for one big dump.

Are we certain that the MF6 is completely finished? Perhaps some of the 2,031,420 blocks are actually last minute flushes from the MF6. One positive note is that we have sufficient time to increase our activity in RC5 since DPC's current total is only 134,465,059 Blocks.

RC,

I guess you mean the DPC's are 134M behind us .
Their total is 274,282,443.

BTW On the DPC-forum there was a call to flush all blocks for a month so the DPC's (and us) know what power they have in RC5. My guess is that their daily output will hoover around 1.6-1.8 Million blocks.:|

Leaves us with 400-600k to catch up. Not impossible.

RC,

That total you give is the difference between us and the DPC, not their total blocks...More like 274,000,000+!!!

Yes, I meant to say that 134M is the difference. If their daily total is 500K greater than ours, it will take them 260 days to catch us.

Yes! I would like to know that too.

Can you guys of TA tell me perhaps how it comes that you have so little active participants? Did you lose the people or did they switch to SETI?

DBC- we have fewer active people doin Rc5 because we are doin other projects.
Were #2 in rc5
#2 in OGR(soon to be #1 again:))
#18 in Seti and
#1 in Gamma Flux.

If we only concentrated on RC5 I bet we would do almost 3million blocks a day ;).

Yes.

Nope. The last blocks from MF6 were flushed saturday, so they appeared in the sunday-stats.

This is our normal daily output from now on. However, sometimes it may be running to 2.5 million a day.

According to someone from DPC, their regular output will be slightly higher for the next week or two, kinda like just final trickalings of MF6, even though it's over.

I can't make enough sad faces to represent this. :(

I'm offical changing my icon to the sad one. The DPC are stronger than us right now and we have to do something about it. NOW. I've created my own mini-team. I'm even installing W2k on this guy's Duron because he never reboots (this will allow better management of dnetc.exe) and hopefully give better thoughput. Ah well. I can't think of any other computers I can get cracking, and I don't have enough money to build a crack rack right now.

:( :( :(

GT,

I feel your pain...:(:(:(

But I posted a thread in one of the other posts before this started...and my numbers seem to be right on the money, with one small exception...I thought we would be able to handle 1.5 to 1.6 million per day...I guess I was wrong:(

So sad...

I can?t believe how calm some of you are. As of now, it is a fact that the DPC's are stronger then us. But no one says that it can't be changed. If we increased to 700+ active users, we'll be able to over power the DPC's in no time.

We can't hide behind the 134M number anymore. I?ve assimilated all the computer savvy users I know.

They even try to nick the forum logo's. Shame I could have done a better job converting them. :)

You're making the incorrect assumption that this is "regular production" - it's simply the continuation of the MF6 abberation.

I'll not express my opinion further, because the flames are lurking. It was a stunt, always was a stunt, and always will be... but hey, I have GREAT ADMIRATION for the dpc.

BTW - are you voting for ALGORE this year?
