Our school got this song program thing called Ruckus, and one of the computer science phds was talking about how you can use audacity to just re rip them so they lose their drm properties. any further info?

If you're willing to spend the time, you can typically 'rip' any DRM protected audio file by capturing the stereo-out with a program such as audacity. Drawbacks to this approach (ethical not included):
*Need to play the audio track in realtime. An entire CD's worth of music is going to take you 60-70 minutes.
*Need to make sure that no other sounds play during that time period (IM notifications, "You've got mail", etc )
*Once done, have to chop the .wav file by hand (more difficult for an entire album than a single file)
*You're going to lose some audio quality.
