Just had four fish tacos and two orders of fries for under $5.

Can't move.

But so worth it.

Went to Rubios in San Diego.

Also a few Coupons

Enjoy!

Never heard of them... will check for the closest one.

Sounds like a great deal. There's one in Glendale, CA. I love fish tacos! Thanks OP.

Thanks for post. There must be several locations nearby.

Do you need a coupon for the $1 fish tacos? Not sure what the referenced coupon for $1off any 3-taco combo is for.

Apparently the coupon is not required for the $1 fish taco. The Flash intro on their website mentions the deal without reference to coupons.

For a while, they've had $1 fish tacos every Tuesday (from 4pm to close, which is usually 9-10).

Is the fish tacos deal now every day? If so, I know what I'm having for breakfast, lunch, and dinner this month!

Rubio's FTW. I hate you, OP. Now I'm hungry for Rubio's and I'm really far away. I like the fish burritos (BTW, their recipe has changed over the years) and occasionally they have great specialty burritos such as lobster or shrimp. First tried the stuff BITD, probably around 1991 when they had ads in the Guardian (UCSD "official" newspaper) for $1 fish burritos. They had a location just a bit past the UTC mall.

Rubios got me started, but now I really prefer a grilled fish instead of battered.

OTOH squeeze bit lime over a nice battered fish taco, pour on some mixed medium and hot salsa, bit of onions and cilantro, I'm in for $3 worth.

You mean like Fry's B&M deals? How about USA only deals for our foreign members? Where do you draw the line? Rubio's is a chain store though it is in the Southwest only.

Being Norsk, I love fish.
Is there any relation between Del Taco and Rubio's? Reason I ask is that Del Taco has recently introduced their fish taco and I was wondering if anyone had the inside scoop...

God I hope not. Del Taco once bought out a fast food chain in California called Naugles. They had the killer "Naugle Burger" second only to the Double Double in my opinion and great burritos (macho burritos originated from the Naugle chain). They then proceeded to wipe out Naugles and convert them all into plain old boring Del Taco's. If they did the same to Rubios that would really suck.

Thanks for the reply.
Here in Denver, the only choice for fast MEX was (groan) Taco Bell until Del Taco moved in.
We used to have Taco John's but all except 1 has/have faded from the Denver scene. And although Del Taco isn't bad, I would not rate them as good. I have yet to try their fish taco. If you love fish and have ever eaten a Whaler from Burger King, you'll know why. - shudder!
