RU running an IDE RAID 0 setup? Honest opinion

i have the option to but have yet to bother, after a billion and one formats, im scared to lose my mp3s and such, and too lazy to back up and no more moolah for more drives.

then i got scsi, and raid faded from my ideas..

For larger files, yes there is a difference. General use, the difference is barely noticeable.

Now, come on out of the woodwork, please. I'm transferring all the stuff into my new case this Wednesday (assuming the case comes this Wednesday...right, EMS? :disgust:) and this would be the ideal time to add another HD for a RAID 0...assuming it's worth it. I can get HD's fairly cheap, + no sales tax or shipping......

The main reason I have a RAID 0 setup is for wideo capture.

Both capacity and speed of RAID 0 were attractive for me.

But I dont use them as boot HDDs...I still use a Quantum Fireball CR...So my system isnt faster but at the same time it is faster...

Read the new RAID article of Anandtech...you should have yoru answer !
