I haven't averaged those out, but I'd guess its something like 3090 costing 90%+ more than the 3080. More or less in line with MSRP. Ouch.

The price premiums for moving above the ZOTAC cards really sting.
Yea for example the Asus 3090 is something like $2k or more which is crazy high. If these will be the prices it looks like straight from Nvidia would be the best deal if you can grab one.

Did you expect the board partners to just eat the losses on all the unsold 2xxx series inventory? It's probably their way of recouping some of the losses.

Of course not but then again that's not my problem. If I can get one from Nvidia on launch great, if not I can wait until I pay what I'm willing to pay for one, not more than their stated MSRP.

Heh, so there's a huge price diff between the TUF and the Strix in Finland, where as in Norway that diff was much less and the Zotac cards were "cheap" instead. I wonder if any of them has any clue what things are gonna cost yet?

Nothing saying those prices will hold once there's availability.

I would say those 699 cards will be 899 thursday.

amd again says 6000 7000 8000 series. the 6 won't even beat a 3070. 7 series in 2021 and 8 series in 2022
just let amd keep bs us forever on video cards

AMD's top-end big Navi should actually trade blows with the 3080! They might even beat it in more games than not. Of course, only time will tell.

The cards will remain inflated in price until spring of 2021.
Most likely. It's the regular cycle we see with new hardware year after year. Doesn't matter if Intel, Nvidia, AMD. Folks want their new shiny and there's never enough to go around for a period of time.

Miners are going to snag as many of the initial production as they can, I can tell you that much. (Well, except for me, I'm a poor miner. But some of them have deep pockets... the "serious" miners.)

Yea if you can't get one at launch then that's it you are waiting for a long time. As long as my current card doesn't die on me I'm fine waiting if I can't snag a 3090.

I still think people should wait on purchasing the 3080/3070 cards because there is every indication that AMD's top end card will have 16 GB RAM, so Nvidia will release a 20 GB 3080 and 16 GB 3070 to counter it as the performance will be too close to either not to and Jensen Huang won't let AMD overtake them for too long on having more RAM as a plus either. Since it won't just be a slight bump in RAM, like going from 6 GB to 8 GB, this will basically be another 2080 Ti / 3080 announcement for the 10 GB 3080 / 8 GB 3070 purchasers because they will feel shafted since Nvidia will release cards with double the RAM within a few months of AMD releasing their 16 GB card.

That’s hoping AMD cards even compete. They haven’t competed directly in gaming performance on the very high end with Nvidia for many generations.
