OK, yesterday I put together my new system:
P4 2.53 @ 2.66
Thermaltake Volcano 7+
512MB Kingston PC1066 RDRAM
Gigabyte GA-8IHXP
Radeon All-in-Wonder 8500 128MB
WD 80GB SE x2 in RAID-0 courtesy of the on-board Promise Lite (I know it's not the best RAID controller)
Anyways, when playing Wolfenstein (multiplayer, haven't tried single), the game seems to "lurch" every few seconds, like it stutters or something. The in-game FPS counter is showing values between 200 and 300, though, so I don't know what's up. My usual game settings are 1280x1024 with the details maxed, but the thing is, it will do the same stuttering even at 640x480 on the lowest detail.
I played this game on my previous system (p3 733 with 256MB PC133, same vid card) and I ran it at the same settings, (1280x1024, etc) albeit at FPS of about 60-90. The thing is, it ran smoothly.
I'm at a loss here for what I should do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... 🙁 😀
