RTCW game saves problem

I just put together a gaming comp and i installed my games and i took the game saves folder for rtcw and it shows the saves but it says their the incorrect version? 18 not 17 like its supposed to be? I'm not sure if i did something wrong but they won't work?
If anybody knows how to solve this problem i would really appreciate it! Thanks
 
I don't think the save games are compatible with the different versions of RTCW. You'll have to install the same version of RTCW that you used to create them.
 
yea, i don't like this feature of game patches, but i guess it is necessary. i just use cheats to get back where i was...
