RTCW: Enemy Territory

RTCW is currently my favourite game and I was really looking forward to the single player missions that Enemy Territory was going to have. It's a shame they got canned. 🙁

Hey,

Anyone heard much about this free multiplayer expansion coming out? When is it due out, etc.?

It's not an expansion. You don't need the original. It's a stand-alone game that will be FREE to download.

Great game , I have been playing it nonstop the last two days ... you cannot argue with FREE. It mixes BF1942 and CS into a nice blend of a FPS with team strategy elements that favor a well balanced team (emphasis on team).

i read somewhere, that they dumped the single-player part.
the test is nice, but depending on the server there are way to many coveret ops running around...
it will be stand-alone, but for free???? muhahaha sounds great, where did you read that? (and i mean free like free and not like p2p with cd-key problems...)

if you like rtcw, adn you really like the whole class system in rtcw: et, then you are more than likely going to want to check out battlefield 1942 and even spend the $40 on it.

Bf1942 .... hated it ... I found the controls more difficult than ET and also found it to be very dodgy (almost felt like lag). Why buy that and waste all my free time playing another EA POS ? I will not forget how they screwed over the community with MoH:AA. If you don't know what I am talking about, then you haveen't played MoH ... thanks but I'll stick with ET for now.

if you want to play bf1942, plan on having at least 512 ram. needless to say it'll run on less, but it ain't gonna like it

there's not a whole lot of "controls" to learn. it's your basic strategy fps game. you've got weapons and you kill people while taking spawnpoints.

Honestly, I like it. Even though you play the same board over and over again. Hopefully they come out with the full version with some new maps soon. I think i am just now getting into the swing of things with the different classes. So far, Engineer is my favorite.

I just d/l'ed the test over the weekend, and while it's nice to see new maps and a (somewhat) different player interface, I'm a little annoyed they removed the "look up/look down" key bind. I'm one of those old-schoolers that still uses the keys for looking and the mouse primarilly for attacking.
