I can't seem to bind the 4th button on my Logitech wheel mouse in RTCW. I have the latest drivers and the reg. patch. I've tried various configuration settings in MouseWare. Any ideas? Does RTCW support a MOUSE4?

Thanks.

(BTW: For me, RTCW really harkens back to the original Wolfenstein 3D. Great job!)

Select the key to bind in the Mouseware utilities and then select THAT key in the in-game controls menu for whatever command you want.

^^what he said^^

In mouse ware I bound my side button to [ctrl] and use that for ducking and the middle button is bound to [shift] which I use for sprinting.

I've done that, but it still won't bind. Also, if I select the 4th button in the RTCW options menu, it doesn't come up as MOUSE4; It comes up as oXoo. I want to use the 4th button for strafing. Here's what I did:

In MouseWare I bound the 4th button to the F10 key. In RTCW I selected the F10 key for Strafe. It shows STRAFE: F10. F10 works for Strafe, but the 4th button won't. I've selected F10 and the 4th button and it shows STRAFE: F10 or oXoo. Still no go. I've selected just the 4th button, and it shows STRAFE: oXoo. Nada.

I've tried binding the 4th button to other keys in the MouseWare and RTCW menus, but it still won't bind the 4th mouse button. The 4th button does work in Windows (I usually use it for Double-Click).

It's not that big of a deal, but I'm stumped. I posted the same question at the tech support section of Activision's site, and am still waiting for a reply (yeah, like that'll happen).

When you say the 4th button do you mean the mouse wheel button or the one on the side? I'll test it on mine and see what happens.

I don't think it will show up as "MOUSE 4" because it's not supported in the game. You should be able to bind that button to work as a key if you are using the Mouseware utilities (even though they are a bit buggy). There is a problem if using the wheel in games if you are running EM_EXEC.EXE in the background. I'm not sure if this effects the 4th mouse button (probably doesn't). The registry fix file is located here:

http://www.logitech.com/cf/support/mousefiles_w98.cfm

You do an end task instead and shut it off (if it's running).
