I've had my Visiontek GF3 Ti200 clocked at 220/480 for the past 2 months or so with no problems or artifacts at all. I recently installed RTCW and about 2 seconds after the game starts 1/2 my screen starts going crazy. I mananged to exit the game and I clocked my card down to the default. After I did this it ran perfect. I thought the install of RTCW might have been bad so I unistalled it and clocked my card back to 220/480. Same thing happend in Windows.

After fooling with it for a while I took the card out and noticed that a capacitor was half way hanging off. I pushed it back down and secured it and tried it again and now everything works fine at 220/480 even RTCW. Could a game cause a capacitor to blow?

Also should I RMA the card? It's working perfect now.

Sounds like the Capacitor was the problem here so I would RMA the card for a replacement.

VisionTek is pretty cool and fast with their RMA service. Definitely RMA it.

Thanks I'm going to RMA it. I might just fleabay the replacement since this will be the 2nd Visiontek product to go out on me. Probably just my bad luck though.

Inspect the new card when you get it, if something looks wrong about it, then don't waste any time and get a new one.

If it's past the warranty period on any product and you can fix the card, then you don't have much to lose by fixing it.
