RSS inbound into a forum

I have a forum around a very specific health care topic. I have connected with someone else in the field that is also posting on this topic. She has an RSS feed and would like to feed it directly to my forum.

Is there a tool that would allow her to inbound her RSS feed without allowing any spammer to do the same thing to my forum?

My forum is SMF version 1.1.10. I am afraid the two RSS Feeders on the SimpleMachine Forums site don't function.

Thoughts? Recommendations?
