RSS Feed for Forums

Is it possible to get a little more comprehensive RSS feed, the current link only shows a few topics, i'd like to be able to see more of the topics (maybe configurable i.e i could pass the number of topics/replies i want to see at a time starting with a start index) at hand and be able to get thread contents as well.

Is this possible?

RSS is not mean't to list hundreds of posts, most feeds don't exceed 20 or so. We aren't going to increase it at this time.

I also think it would be great if the number of replies could be passed. This way I could automatically flag all new posts.

lol i could adapt my script to show only the new topipcs that are pulled from the rss 😉

Hate you? Huh?

Showing all the posts doesnt work well for RSS, that isn't what it was designed for. A summary maybe, and i'll jot that down.

I have an Interest in RSS, t o today it is identify a little too much with blogs, but it here to stay and seems to the tool that will dominant the distribution of Information in the future.

I logged to the many major Sites that provide computer related Forums.

The only one with RSS for the Forums is Lockergnome.com

http://www.lockergnome.com/community/

The forums there are Not as Busy as AT forums and the RSS seems to be restricted to the last 5 days. I.e. every time a day added the sixth day and bellow it gets knocked down.

From what I can see on AT forum people rarely go back more then a day.

I can not gauge the the volume distribution over time, since it seems that AT Forums (unlike most other forums) do not provide the number of times that a thread is read.

Could be that maintaining a XML file that lives for one day is Good enough.

I tend to agree with Jason it is a problem on what is probably the busiest Computer Related Forums in the World.

Better take some time for thinking and do it right.

P.S. If you stumbled upon this thread and do not know what it is about look here:
