From the front page of Yahoo, and probably the worst article ever, no useful information at all. Anybody have any actual details? Maybe a link to the original interview?

My Elite died last night (I had org 360 before elite that died also).
I can't play SF IV :(
I think I might take it back to Costco and get PS3.
They have Elite on their website but not in store.
I'm torn

Maybe Costco'd let you swap it for the candy apple red Resident Evil elite, people expect it to be all Jasper units since it's a new build.

Just look at Anand's writeup on how to spot a Jasper.

basically all of the current 360 arcade models are jasper...i bought one of the very first machines with jasper in it (late november), and honestly, i still havent seen a pro or elite (minus the RE5 elite) with a jasper in it.

I just use the xclamp fix on all xboxes that come my way.. I run a small business on craigslist and charge 30 bucks a pop, make money so easy, there's tons of people who have the RROD.

In my experience, it seems to be some sort of a weak solder joint on the GPU chip. I just overheat the chip, turn it off, apply new thermal paste which is way better than the junk they put on there in the first place and then tighten down the gpu even tighter than before. I also think the xclamps don't provide an evenly space pressure and sometimes aren't on tight enough. Varies from box to box.

costco doesn't carry special editions.

I've only once seen the warehouse carry the elite model.

IMO that'd be a really big mistake. I'm going to assume you have a semi decent library of 360 games so switching consoles now would be costing you a lot more than just the console itself as all those games are now a waste.
