I can't be sure if there is a forum conspiracy to wind me up, but will you guys give it a rest?

This is a game that has been ported with such clumsiness that there is a 30fps cap in place for PC. Yet you STILL insist nvidia are to blame for the games short commings.

You guys are absolutely fanatical!

I have to agree with your comment. Thank goodness for refunds. I do wonder what the refund policy is for those that bought from other (legit) places like Humble Bundle, GMG, etc? Too bad for those that bought into the hype.

Not to mention this crap

PC version missing AO.

And there's no bokeh depth of field as well. I remember that being touted.

How about we look at it another way.

If Nvidia was involved with Gameworks! As far as i know Nvidia hardware is for PC and not consoles. How was the obvious quality control missed? If Gameworks and TMIWTBP are part of this game how could they let this get out to retail!!!

Just putting my though into it, dont care either way not my kind of game.

Name any modern game that has worked well on release.

Stop circle jerking.

You're a touchy one huh? Couldn't answer the question either huh? That said, most games that are not GW titles run decently on release like for ex. gta 5 which uses little GW (pcss and txaa) and on the flipside chs for amd. I'd prefer it if devs went back to using the bits they want instead wholesale subsidizing the game thru the GW program.

Well, on the upside... Steam refunds must be getting tested. lol

It's funny that indie's are getting better as AAA's are completely worthless piles of trash.

the pc version is a horrible, horrible port. stay away or wait till goty edition, even then wait for performance reviews.

damn, what is the point of us buying 700$ gpus but the games we want to play is this bad? I can buy both consoles with the 700$ :(

I put together a few benchmarks on my R9 290 and GTX 780 Ti with and without Gameworks. Also tracked VRAM usage. Bench is on my blog.

Funny thing is that this game looks almost exactly like Arkham City, which I also ran a bench of just for the heck of it, despite running at about 50% of the framerate. It also uses 3.5x the VRAM.

And Kepler had another bad showing, not surprisingly.

Games are built that way so Microsoft and Sony don't get butthurt since their machines can't do 60Hz. They are the biggest money makers and have that kind of pull. Though you can almost always override the cap by changing settings.

No, it's that way because they didn't have to do any optimization and extra work to get the game running 60fps consistently. It's a developer problem not a problem with platform favoritism.

Name any modern game that has worked well on release.

I didn't have problems with The Witcher 3. It ran 60fps on day one with proper SLI scaling and everything set to the max. There were some game bugs but nothing performance related for me.

yea, everybody complained about the previous gen consoles holding back gaming, not using more cores, high end hardware, and so on. Well the old saying "be careful what you wish for" seems to apply here. At least previous gen console ports could be run on petty much any decent hardware. Now even with high end hardware, performance is crap, and gameplay and graphics dont seem to have improved correspondingly. So much for the great renaissance in PC gaming from the x86 consoles. Looks like the devs are just using the architectural similarity to make even lazier ports.

I definitely see what you mean, but the city lights in the background do seem much more detailed and sharper in the PC version.

Is because the PC doesn't have bokeh depth of field filters (ie. PS4 has better rendering), supposedly use to make scenes more realistic due to focus/out of focus.

Seriously this is the one PC game where the console peasants can actually claim superior graphics & performance. o_O wtf WB!

those comparison shots are just depressing.

the blame should be squarely on the people who thought a 12man console team would do justice to the feature set available to them.

I really cant wait for a modern AAA PC exclusive that pushes the envelope. it will atleast show whats possible. sadly that doesnt look like it will happen any time soon.

Crytek was on a roll back in the day. then the decision to kill Crymod was the start.
between the $70m Amazon deal & their VR foray - hopefully they will go back to being one of the leaders again. the guys at Star Citizen have poached way too many devs though, so who knows.

Think of it one way and it does make those who mess up pc ports with larger teams look bad. Also makes one wonder why some games don't get to pc if a 12 man team can make a gamebarelyworks title with denuvo actually run ok. Making a pc port can't be that expensive

I had noticed the rain thing in their gameworks trailer and ignored it. The normal rain did look better there

Wow ...

It's pathetic how the PS4 version is getting some goodies in comparison to the PC version ...

WB should know better than to get amateurs like Iron Galaxy Studios which was responsible for the initial disaster of a port of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection ...

The thing that irritates me the most is that both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were fantastic games in just about every departments and they were solid cross platform games that ran well and looked really good on the PC, as well as supporting cool features like Nvidias 3D vision. These games blew me away.

They farm out Origins to another developer and it turns out pretty badly I 100% completed the first games but only ever played a few hours of Origins.

Then they go botch the PC release of Arkham Knight, it's such a mindless waste, we KNOW this company can absolutely deliver on a quality experience and they have done twice and they also have the feedback from Origins to guide their decisions and they still throw the PC version down the toilet.

If this was just another brand new IP that we could ignore then that'd be fine, y'know? Just waste your time and we won't buy it and everyone will go on with their lives, but to take something that is a well established IP/franchise and s**t all over isn't just upsetting, but it's just a demonstrably stupid thing to do.

I dunno, what a waste.

Yeah and this was an extremely important game for a lot of people. This ends the dark knight trilogy of games and is rocksteady' final batman game. It got a lot of attention.
