RPG/Adventure game like Zelda for two players?

Are there any RPG/Adventure games for the Wii that two players can play at the same time? My wife and I both like RPGs (we played Baldur's Gate together for many months playing through as different characters and "alignments" several times), and we played Dark Age of Camelot together for years but we don't want to get into another MMO. Something like Twilight Princess but that two people can play at the same time would be great.

Probably about the closest RPG/Adventure game for the in the mold of Baldur's Gate would be Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. And even that's not very close. That's closer to the hack-n-slash RPG versions of Baldur's Gate.

There are very few RPGs on the Wii and they are pretty much all 1 player games.

That would be nice to find. Doubt it will ever happen though. Not sure why no games like BG are ever released for consoles.. From what I've seen over the years the BG series are on the top of many people's list of greatest games ever so it would only make sense to bring it to a console.. I can only dream I guess.

It seems like there have been a lot of Japanese RPGs announced recently for the Wii. Some of them are bound to make their way over here.

What about lego star wars? That's a 2 player coop adventure game. That is like the only game I could get my gf to play with me on my ps3. We both enjoyed it quite a bit. They have it on the wii too!

While it's not that close I'd say Marvel: UA would be a good choice as well. The combat is pretty simple, but it's a pretty well fleshed out game with different characters continuously being unlocked to try out. Also gaining new powers is always fun.

How about The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures for the GC, you can get it for $15 used @ gamestop.

You could get Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1&2 (it's a single game) for the gamecube and play it on the Wii. It's very much like a futuristic Zelda, pretty darn fun. (technically it's a futuristic diablo with combat vaguely more toward that of a zelda but not as refined, still it's got an overarching story, multiple classes and races, coop and single player gameplay and what not)
There's also the Xmen Legends games. Oh yeah and Marvel Ultimate Alliance is for the Wii.

Can't think of much else that will play on the Wii that's Zelda like and multiplayer though. Having access to PCs or one of the other consoles would potentially open up more options.

Oh, Zelda Four Swords was quite fun on the gamecube (2d zelda game), but requires a gameboy advance per player plus attaching cable. And if that's your style, the GBA also had a Zelda Four Swords game (maybe 2?) as well as some *something* of Mana games with similar multiplayer on the DS.

Secret of Mana on VC anyone? It's more like the older style Zelda games, but it's there.

Secret of Mana is on the VC????

YOU LIE!!!!!

*checks*

OH GOD, YOU DON'T LIE!!!

OP, get Secret of Mana. It's a really fun RPG where your wife can control people on your party as well. The fighting is in real time and not turn based, and the game is lots of fun.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have a list of games to look for now. 🙂

(That said, I'm not opposed to more suggestions if anyone knows of more games we can try.)

Wasn't there also a Final Fantasy like that? think it required gameboys or DS. Crystal Chronicles?

Yep, and presuming you had four people with GBAs, it was a good time.
