RPC server not available when installing printer

Hi all,

I need some help... I am trying to install a hpdeskjet 3420 printer. It's USB connection only.... I plug it in and the install software can't find the printer..... Windows however does detect it but says it can't install the printer because "RPC server unavailable"

I have no idea what this is and need some help please!
 
You're installing a printer on the network? or stand-alone?

Make sure the RPC server service is started (Control Panel / Services / Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service / Startup / Automatic). The cause can also be a missing or corrupted spoolss.dll or spoolss.exe.
