Followers of Neal Boortz and Atlanta area news radio will be saddened to learn that Royal Marshall, long time producer of the Neal Boortz show, passed away suddenly Saturday. Preliminary cause of death is a massive heart attack. Besides producing, Marshall was also responsible for keeping Boortz honest as the occasional "voice of moderation", did some stand-up comedy, and for a time had a pretty good radio talk show, the Royal Treatment (which unfortunately was replaced by the horrible, horrible Michael Savage), as well as chairing the advisory committee of Forever Family (which provides financial support and an extended family type of support for disadvantage and abused children.) Marshall was only forty-three and leaves behind a wife and two daughters aged two and four.
He was sharp as a tack and more importantly a hell of a nice guy. He will be missed.
