The local news was just on and said that he was crying at the meeting and that they would have a press conference tonight to confirm his decision to go to UNC

I'm hearing reports of a $1.7 million a year deal. That is disgusting when the school is freezing salaries and slashing budgets.

YEAH!! WTF!!! The news just broke through saying that UNC has raised tuition three times in recent years and wants to raise it AGAIN now. And they're going to pay him $1.7 million?? FUNK THAT!! If I were a student/parent there, I'd be pissed

There is no question that the timing of Al Bohl's firing was terrible. But the honest-to-god truth is that NO ONE in the KU Athletic Dept. liked Al Bohl. The guy's dismissal was a foregone conclusion... our chancellor just took too long to do the deed.Originally posted by: Tiger
Lemme see if I got this right.
Roy Williams gets the AD fired then 2 weeks later skips town for UNC.
Now that's a class act. He could be in the NBA.

With Roy and the AD gone maybe K-State has a chance now. Go Cats!

I was sure he would stay... he's a man of such integrity I couldn't see him going back on his word three years ago. I'd imagine that there are several mitigating factors that made the difference this time around. I hope, for the sake of Roy's conscience and the closure of Kansas fans like myself that he provides an explanation for:
1. Why this decision was different this time around.
2. Truthfully when his decision was made (I think it was days if not weeks ago)
3. Why he dragged it out so long after saying he wouldn't
As tempting as it is to be angry at him, when it comes down to it I wish him the best. He will always be a major part of Kansas basketball and has done so much good for this program.
I just think he owes everyone an explanation. Then, we move on.

Edit: I'm just glad I got to see him coach his last game as a Jayhawk in person... it was a hell of a game too.

Hard to say no when it's his alma mater; plus, it's the post formerly held by one of the greatest college coaches of all time.
Yeah, they're paying him a lot of money, but if he brings UNC back to its former glory that $1.7 million/year will seem like a bargain.
