Roxio's DirectCD & problems!

I installed a USB1 external Iomega CDRW on my freinds computer. ( OS is 98)
When I install the given software/drivers first everything seemed fine.
Then down where the startup icons are the directCD icon had a red slash through it.
I click on it & it said no detected devices?
The computer is not detecting the burner I take it.
I patched with the latest from roxios site, still no detection.
Can anyone help me getting this USB burner to be detected?

please reply, thx

Direct CD is a non-essential troublemaker that you are better off uninstalling and forgetting.

To get a USB device "seen," the best way is to hot plug it after the computer is up and running.
