Yes, its slightly faster....but if the software craps out on you in the middle of a burn, then a slight speed difference doesn't matter much, does it? :p

Like most people, I was a bit miffed by some of the lingering bugs in Roxio ECDC 5.x. I really didn't want to give them any more of my money. But I gave in and purchase 6.0. Actually I find it VERY nice. The DVD/Video CD creator is excellent. DirectCD has been replaced with a redesigned program called Drag-to-Disc. The burning engine in Creator Classic has been overhauled as well.

I also have Nero 5.5 but I honestly hate the interface. Roxio 5 had a better interface than Nero and Roxio 6 only improves on it some more.

Um, this price isn't $29.99. It's $49.99. The separate $20 Roxio rebate is already factored in to the $49.99 price.

I believe the $20 mail in rebate also requires a previous RETAIL version of Easy CD Creator 5, or competitiors product. So if you have a Basic version or a "demo" version this rebate will not work. You need to mail in the cover page from your user guide, or a photocopy of the CD-ROM itself from your previous version.

The standard Nero just doesn't hold your hand as much as Roxio does.....but then again they changed that with the newest versions which has "Nero Express" included in the installation. This has the same type of interface as Roxio does......OR you can use the classic interface for advanced users. Either way, you win.

CocoGdog, you got me exited here,
but this is a stinky deal, as Savard pointed out, the $20 rebates can be used only once.

Please care to investigate more detailed next time!

The price after 10$ AZ coupon would be still $40 as it was posted in an earlier thread.

NOGO with this "deal".

PC Magazine review says save your money if you have version 5, still the same old program and still recommends Roxio

Not really true. For the basic burning and music features, yes they are pretty much the same. The key reason to possibly upgrade is the VCD, SVCD and DVD authoring features.
