Here's the deal. I've got a Sony CRX145E CD-RW. It was working fine for about 2 years now, and all of a sudden my Adaptec Easy CD Recorder says this error:

"There are no supported CD-Recorders available. Ensure that your
CD-Recorder is powered on and that all cables are properly connected. You
may also need to update Easy CD Creator to recognize your CD-Recorder. To
update CD Creator select Web-Checkup from the Internet Menu."

So I went to the Web-Checkup and says a *.dll file is missing... I searched, downloaded... ran through the Web-Checkup again, my IE opened but nothing came out. I decided to get into Adaptec.com and see what I could find. I updated the version 4.0 to the most latest, 5.0 (or something like that). Same friggen' problem! So I deleted Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.0 and installed Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5.0. Same problem, same error message. I decided to open my case, check the cable, and even switched the cable from slave to master. Same friggin' problem. So I went to Sony.com, installed and ran their diagnostic DriveCheckC tool and it actually did burned my CD-RW. So it's not definitely my CD-RW burner but I think it's the software. Anybody got a suggestions? I'm freakin' pulling my hair!!!!

By the way... my burner is the latest firmware version 1.0b. Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5.0 is compatible with Sony CRX145E CD-RW. :|

You most likely didn't install it according to the Roxio website and also need to install the update. roxio is notorious for this problem, it's a mixture of a messed up registry and uninstalled files and GoBack. Gawd help you.

Here's how I uninstalled Adaptec Easy CD Creator
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

After several hours of looking through Roxio's website how to
uninstall CD Creator, I found no solution. Using Google's and
Microsoft.com gave me the answers but they apply to Win2k.

Any other suggestions or link? Help me. Thanks.

If you have the "platinum"version go to this page and look at step 4 for a file you will need.

BTW: It would also be wise to download the latest EZCD update (5.1) and follow the instructions on that same link I provided.

I don't think I have the "Platinum" version. It seems like I have the Roxio Basic. Should I still update?
Another error message I forgot to mention above is when I click to copy datas, copy cd or anything:

--Creator API--
Easy CD Creator Engine initialization has failed : (Could not Inizialize the Engine)
