First off, I would like to say hello.. I am somewhat computer saavy, but cannot figure out this problem I was hoping you all could help me figure out what is going on...
My internet seems to be all over the place as far as speeds go. When running bandwidth tests, I am constantly DL ~ 40mbps and UL ~4 from different sites.. but when i trace route an IP i am getting crazy numbers and timeouts all over the place. I am a gamer and this is severely affecting my state of mind >< This has been going on for weeks now, and the cable company says " we can only guarantee DL speeds and your internet works, even if its shitty it works good luck have fun" So I am kind of at wits end here. Hopefully you can make some sense of this and let me know if you have any ideas how I may remedy this.. It seems that other players are unaffected by these issues and the cable company just chalks it up to "peak use time" though I'm not buying it. Below i am pasting a traceroute to google.com. Thank you in advance!!!!! I really appreciate it! These time outs and random ping spikes do not seem to be limited to a certain hop either. If i ran this again, it would be spiking and timing out at different hops.
