Routing AOL ADSL

I need to connect 2 Pc's over a network, sharing the AOL ADSL internet connection between the two. Not a problem usually, i'd just buy a router, connect it to the ADSL modem then connect both machines to the router. The problem is that the machine that connects to the internet does so using an internal modem. So I cant connect this to the router.

Would I be right in thinking all I need to do is buy a router with built in ADSL modem such as this and connect both machines to the router?
 
If you only want the 2 PC's connected. You can just use a crossover cable to connect the 2 PC's directly. Then use ICS which stands for "Internet Connection Sharing". Only down fall to this is the PC with the internal modem would have to be on. In order for the other PC to access the internet.

This is a nice cheap way to link two PC's. If you are little or no funds to buy the needed hardware like a router.
 
Hmm...I don't know if ICS works with AOL.

Even sharing an AOL Broadband account to two systems using DSL doesn't work so well.

ICS and a crossover cable is no good, both machines need to be able to access the internet independently (without relying on one machine being on).
A router is clearly the way to go, if the one linked above is no good, I might just have to buy an external ADSL modem and seperate router.
