I have 1024/128 cable now and its split 3 ways through a router.

so if computer1 is downloading at 100kbps, how big of an impact will this have on computers2 and 3?

i've tried experimenting around with this, but nothing is conclusive (meaning they keep changing time to time)

In theory, the router can split up your bandwidth with very little loss. If you have a 1Mbps (1 MegaBIT) download, that's about 150KBps (KiloBYTES) that your computers can share. So if you had all three systems trying to DL something at once (assuming the servers have enough capacity to feed the systems), they should all average about 50KBps.
